So, you're interested in joining Keystone Spire and have a few questions? Hopefully we have your answers!
Q: What requirements are needed to get a costume cleared?
A: If you have a costume that is already cleared with another Star Wars group, your costume falls under our "NO FUSS" approval, meaning there is no clearance requirement. We honor all pre-approved costumes once your credentials have been verified and cross checked. Simple!
Q: Do you follow the 501st, Rebel Legion or Mandalorian Mercs CRL's?
A: We are an open format costume club, so our standards are a little different. We use costume reference libraries as a baseline, but screen grabs are also used to be sure that your costume falls in line with our character standards.
Council members review all applications before each costume is cleared with us. We want to be sure you are looking your best at all times.
Keystone Spire allows for flexibility. You can choose a variety of construction materials to get the results you want from your costume build.
We understand the process can be time consuming and expensive, but the focus should be on having fun. We are always available to help along the way.
Q: I want to customize my "NO FUSS" Spire approved costume and create something unique. Can I do that?
A: Of course you can. Keep in mind that your "NO FUSS" approval is cleared in another club, so you will want to be sure that your creative adjustments to not void your membership elsewhere.
Once all adjustments are made, please notify us so we can take a look.
Q: What if I want to create my own custom character?
A: You absolutely can. In fact, we encourage it.
So long as it looks "in world" and can be recognized from the galaxy far, far away, it will be welcomed within the Spire.
Q: I've completed my costume, what's next?
A: Gather your pictures on a photo hosting site such as Flickr, Google Drive, Dropbox etc. Once your photos are uploaded,
complete the Resident application below!
Please include front, back, sides, action and a helmet off photo. If there are specific details we need to see, please include those photos too.
Make sure your pictures are high quality and in front of a solid background that does not clash or blend with your costume. Natural lighting usually works the best for us to see your photos.
Do not take pictures with a cluttered background, that distracts from your costume. Photos that are poor quality will not be evaluated, and new pictures will need to be resubmitted.
Once we have your application, our Council Membership Officer will review your application and be in touch.
